Everyone else in the competition is pairing up—why shouldn’t they?
Melanie Owens was born to write story lines for video games. Her plots keep gamers coming back for more. If only she could craft a compelling happy ending in her personal life.
Ian Hayes knows how to sell video games. They haven’t had a failed launch yet. His slick marketing campaigns push the games to the top of the charts. And he plans to keep it that way.
Working with Melanie as part of the competition for promotion is easy. They have good synergy and they both know the score. So when Melanie notices everyone else is falling in love and suggests they pretend to follow suit, Ian reluctantly agrees. Maybe if he plays along he can persuade Melanie to give their relationship a real chance.
Will pretending to date help them both level up or will it knock them out of the game for good?
