For a little while now, I've been trying to up my game when it comes…

8 Great Reasons to Read Christmas Novellas
I’ll admit, before I started writing, it had never occurred to me to read Christmas novellas. (Or Christmas stories in general, to be honest.) There were so many good books out there, why would I bother with something specifically geared toward a particular season?
Well, last year, I saw the light, so to speak. I had friends putting out Christmas novellas and…they’re delightful! So delightful, in fact, that this year I’ve written one. And I’m thrilled to tell you that the boxed set it’s a part of, Love’s Gift, is now available for pre-order!
Without further ado, my 8 reasons you should consider reading Christmas novellas (one for each one in the boxed set):
- Novellas are short (1/2 to 1/3 the length of a full-length novel), so you can read them in one or two sittings and still have a full story experience.
- It’s a great way to start getting into the Christmas spirit. If you find yourself feeling grumpy every time you look at the Christmas displays sitting next to the Halloween candy and grumbling about how soon everyone starts pulling stuff out, these sweet romances will help you ease into the idea that maybe it’s not so bad after all.
- Christmas novellas, particularly those in boxed sets, are super cheap. You get 8 brand-new, never released before novellas for the low price of $0.99. Really, what do you have to lose?
- You can experience Christmas in several different locations without ever leaving the comfort of your couch (or wherever you like to read). In our box, we have Christmas in Montana, Washington D.C., Gatlinburg, Canada, and more!
- It’s a great way to dip your reading toes into new-to-you authors. Honestly, I’ve found some of my new favorite authors through various boxed sets that’ve been out lately. (And again, the low risk that comes with the price point is hard to beat.)
- If you’re like me, you’re ready for some cooler temperatures and thoughts of snow. Also, if you’re like me, you’ve probably got at least another month, maybe more, before that’s even a possibility. But you can read about them now!
- There are fewer calories in a Christmas novella than in a Christmas cookie.
- Reading Christmas novellas is the perfect escape if you’re trapped in an over-crowded room of visiting relatives who annoy you. (Not that that happens, of course, I know we all love our relatives all the time. Especially at Christmas. But just in case, you could have novellas on hand.)
So there you have it. My list of reasons you should give Christmas novellas a try. All of them serious, right up to the point when I ran out of ideas but wanted to have 8 because there are 8 in the boxed set.

You had me at Christmas. Pre-ordered the book. Looks delightful!
Hope you enjoy them!
I particularly like reasons 7 and 8. 🙂
Yeah, they’re pretty good, I’ll admit 🙂 But I still want a cookie. To eat with my novella.
