For a little while now, I've been trying to up my game when it comes…
A Mini End-of-Summer Vacation
In mid-July, hubby and I started thinking that we needed a little mini-vacation. The past several months have been rough for a number of reasons, and we needed a little fun and a little downtime together. Around that same time, I got an email coupon for Great Wolf Lodge. It seemed serendipitous…so we went ahead and booked.
Now, I won’t lie. Great Wolf Lodge isn’t on my list of places I will ever decide that I want to go for myself. But the kids love it. Hubby loves it. And…I can tolerate it. And at the end of the day, it’s a great place for that down time and fun.
So, Monday morning we were loaded up in the car and on our way down before ten. We arrived just at check-in time (along with a thousand other people!), having stopped for Sonic on the way down (Sonic is always a big hit and the closest one is a 35ish minute drive, so we don’t get there very often.) We spent the bulk of the afternoon at the water park, dried off for dinner and then did MagiQuest for the remainder of the evening.
Tuesday was a full day of water park and MagiQuest and the arcade. And we left for home around lunch time on Wednesday.
Everyone seems to have had a lovely time. And while I’m not sure it recharged my batteries completely, it was good to have a break in the routine and to see the boys having so much fun.

It sounds like a fun time! We have a GWL about 20 minutes from us, but have never gone, although my kids have gone with other friends or relatives. We have 3 Sonics about 1-2 miles from us, so I can’t imagine not having one close.
