A Productive Weekend

I posted on my Facebook author page on Saturday that I was hoping to get a solid 10,000 words written that day. Sadly, I didn’t hit that goal, but I did get close to 7K. Sunday, I got another 5K taken care of. And really, that’s pretty good progress – I feel like I’m on the downhill slide to the end of the current book – and that is a fabulous feeling.

I’ve also been invited to participate in a Christmas novella collection this year. I’m really looking forward to that – many of the ladies participating are folks whose books I enjoy. It’s odd to think that my work will be sharing a cover with theirs. What’s even more fun, is I got the seed of an idea for that novella this weekend and I’m looking forward to diving in to it.

Finally, I’ve decided to extend the Taste of Romance series from the initial 3 books I’d planned to 5. In A Pinch of Promise, we’ll meet two new ladies and I enjoy them and think they’ve got a lot of potential — so clearly they’ll need their own happy ending! I’ve even picked out the guy for one of them (he had a brief cameo in A Splash of Substance.)

It was a super productive weekend on the writing front. On the family front, I still got to spend a lot of time with all three boys (that includes the hubby) and had a lovely, relaxed Mother’s Day, which is my favorite kind. And even more fun? My sister and her husband drove out of town to visit his mom for the weekend. On their way home, they thought they’d lost his very expensive prescription sunglasses at a rest stop. But God is faithful and answered our prayers almost immediately and he found them in the car, in a place he’d already looked. I love little reminders like that that even our littlest worries matter to God.

How was your weekend?
