And…We’re Back!

I’m loving the new look of my website – and it’s so nice to be back and able to blog again! So much has happened over the last month while this place was under construction, I’ll do a quick recap, and probably spend more time in full-length posts over the next little while.

In mid-September, I attended the American Christian Fiction Writer’s (ACFW) conference in Indianapolis, Indiana. I learned a ton, met lots of people, and came home utterly exhausted. (Most of that is probably owing to the long drive. I really slept pretty well while I was there.) I saw a few people in passing whose work I admire and really wanted to stop them and say hi…but I chickened out. So I didn’t get to shake any big name author hands. Maybe next time I won’t be such a scaredy-cat.

We had bout after bout of sickness here at home. I think we are all FINALLY back to healthy normal. Except the baby. He’s cutting his final molar (hallelujah that it’s the very last one though. Honestly, teething is a horrible, horrible thing.)

I’m the Commander of our church’s AWANA club (I think I’ve mentioned that before) and things are settling into a nice quiet rhythm now on club nights. This is a very good thing because the first month was frantic running and I wasn’t sure I was going to live through it! (So hope for anyone out there who volunteers with something like that – it really does settle down eventually.)

We’ve also hit our stride with the homeschooling of the older boy and things are zipping along. The very best thing though is when he says to me, “Mommy, when are we going to do our school for today?” and it’s a Saturday. He loves it. That makes the occasional frustrations totally worthwhile.

In writing news, I’ve got Matt and Laura’s novella all edited and a rocking cover (you can see that on my Facebook page – I shared it today. I’ll post more about the novella here on Wednesday) so I just need to get it all set up on Amazon and then it’ll be released into the wild. Maybe I can get that taken care of this week and have it release next week. I’ll keep you posted!

In the mean time, it’s just really nice to be back!
