Another Wednesday Poem

Because I can’t think of anything else with which to regale you today and I really am trying to be better about posting 3 days a week with some consistency.

Goodnight

It’s twilight in the autumn of my mind.
Wistful sleepiness surges like the coastal tides
barely here before it’s gone.
A star, alone, twinkles silently as the last leaf of thought
flutters gently down to rest
in the overflowing tide pool of dreams.

  1. Beth,

LOVE this poem! Such imagery – your words paint such a picture of that pull towards sleep – I actually felt that languorous, floating state as I read it. I shared it with Brad and told him he should keep it in mind for a choral piece. The imagery is so conducive to music – with your permission and working out contract details of course!

Keep writing – you are REALLY good at it!
    Love,
    M

    1. Thanks, Merryl! (And of course if Brad gets inspired by it, we can work something out 🙂 )
