For a little while now, I've been trying to up my game when it comes…

April is Infertility Awareness Month
Infertility is a topic near and dear to my heart, though it’s one that I certainly wish I knew less about than I do. It’s also something that approximately 1 in 8 couples will experience.
1 out of 8.
That means you very likely know at least one couple who has or is dealing with infertility. And you might not even know that they are. Because one of the biggest heartaches with infertility is how difficult it is to talk about. Unless you’ve been there, it’s hard to understand. And sometimes, even when you have been there – just in a different way (because infertility comes in many shapes and sizes) – it can be a challenge to know what to say.
I’m thrilled that the infertility devotional I was a part of last summer, A Walk in the Valley, is releasing this month and hope that you’ll suggest it to the couple you know who’s in the trenches of heartache. It’s a fabulous compilation of all the author’s stories with a retrospective look at what we felt and how we can, looking back, see God’s hand in our lives through our struggles. It’s not all sunshine and lollipops. But it is full of empathy and hope.
For the month of April, I’m going to be doing a series of blog posts about infertility – in general and about my own experiences in particular. It’s my prayer that taking the time to do this will, if nothing else, help you be more aware of those around you who may be hurting.
