Book Recommendation: The Dragon’s Tongue

A while back, I recommended Things Unseen by a local author who I met at a multi-author book signing last year. If you read that, then you have probably been eagerly awaiting book two (and if you haven’t read it and you enjoy dystopian fantasy, then seriously, hie yourself forth and read it!) Well, eagerly await no more – because book two is here and it is FAN. TAS. TIC.

Book two, titled The Dragon’s Tongue, picks up right at the end of Things Unseen and follows Aria, Owen, and the rest of the cast of the rebellion as they unwind more of what’s going on in the Empire. While Things Unseen had definite Christian undertones, The Dragon’s Tongue takes the gloves off and has a wonderful discussion of God’s sovereignty as well as a good, even-handed look at why one might choose to believe in God. And yet, it’s all done in such a way that even if you’re not a believer, it’s unoffensive.

Since I write romance and, presumably if you read here it’s because you like romance, let me just say there is enough romance to keep you going! While not strictly a romance, there are longing looks and declarations of love (as well as conversations about the nature of love that are delightful). So don’t worry that it’s a straight up fantasy and let that scare you away.

And, since I can’t seem to help myself, I just finished reading the draft of book three. And people…it just gets better. So seriously, jump into this series – you won’t regret it.
