For a little while now, I've been trying to up my game when it comes…
Book Review: Key Witness
I had the opportunity to get a pre-release copy of Christy Barritt’s newest Love Inspired Suspense (LIS) Key Witness and I jumped on it. I haven’t actually read anything by Barritt before, but I love a good LIS and I’ve been pretty pleased with my choices so far, so I figured it was worth a look.
This is actually the second installment of her Security Partners series with LIS, following on the story of Jack and Rachel, who you might have met in The Last Target. You see them again, briefly, in this book, but not having read the previous one is not a hindrance to enjoying Key Witness.
Key Witness introduces us to Elle Phillips, a Senator’s daughter who is also heavily involved in his campaign, and Mark Denton, a private security contractor. They meet by coincidence on their weekly trips to the bank, but when that bank is robbed and the robbers then appear to be targeting Elle in revenge for her calling the police, Denton is hired by the Senator to protect Elle. In true Love Inspired form, you know that they’ll end up together – but there are some delightful twists to the plot that I’m not used to finding in these smaller novels. All is not as it seems and it takes both Elle’s and Denton’s determination to find the truth.
Key Witness is a fast read with just the right blend of romance and suspense to keep the pages turning.
