For a little while now, I've been trying to up my game when it comes…

Book Reviews with Grandma: Prairie Fire by Catherine Palmer
Today we have a very short entry from Grandma from November 20, 1998.
Jack Cornwell lost everything after the Civil War and he found himself in Kansas looking for his sister’s son. He seems to be in a lot of trouble so hides in a barn of Caitrin who lives with her sister on the Kansas Prairie. They fall in love and he has to prove himself an upright citizen to the whole community.
A good book.
I seem to remember seeing Grandma with other books by Catherine Palmer – I’m pretty sure she was an author Grandma tended to enjoy. (So really I’m a little surprised by the short review. Though perhaps there just wasn’t that much more to say – that does definitely sum up the plot nicely.)
I flipped through the little book of reviews after last week’s entry and realized that Grandma was, apparently, quite the lover of historical fiction. Since Grandpa loved to read WWII books (biographies and non-fiction mostly though from what I recall on his shelves and seeing him hold), I imagine they had some cozy chats about their various historical periods in the evenings as they read.
