For a little while now, I've been trying to up my game when it comes…
Cover Quandries
So tomorrow’s the day A Pinch of Promise releases (and the price returns to the regular price of $2.99 shortly thereafter, so if you want the release special of $0.99 – snap it up soon!)
My uncle read book one (A Splash of Substance) and had some lovely things to say about it and then he said, “But I’m not crazy about the cover.”
Now, I’ll be the first to admit that he’s not the target audience (being a he, to start off with, and not one who reads romance as a second). But it sent me into a spiral of doubt.
See, I love the covers. I think they’re pretty and they capture the romance without having embracing people on the covers. But, flipping through Amazon’s contemporary romance listings…nearly all the covers have people on them. (Not all, the handful without people are like mine, flowery.) And so this is where I thought I’d toss it out and ask your thoughts – do you have to have people on your romance covers? Should I look into recovering these and rebranding the series? Or do you think they’re ok?
