Do You Like Water Parks?

All summer, my boys have been begging to go to the water park. I’ve used this excuse or the other to push them off a bit, but I believe the time has come that I’m going to have to take them.

I hate water parks.

I’m not really sure why. I mean, I don’t love public water — this includes swimming pools, lakes, and ponds — so that probably factors into it. Then you add in the closed tube slides where you feel like you’re suffocating the whole way down and there’s the constant, niggling fear that it’ll get blocked and the water will just keep rising higher and higher and higher. I guess I’m a tad claustrophobic.

The open slides aren’t any better. Have you seen the videos of the people flying off the sides? Yeah, I predicted that one in my nightmares a long, long time ago.

So really, a trip the water park involves a lot of prayer and a constant battle against panic.

Should be a fun time.

What about you? Do you enjoy the water park?

  1. No! I do NOT like the water parks! I have that same claustrophobic fear! When my kids were little there weren’t really any water parks, so I didn’t have to deal with it. We did spend lots of time at our public pool until my sister had an in ground pool put in. It was like heaven having just us and our kids in the pool. 🙂

I just feel like water parks are overcrowded, expensive, and overrated. But I am sure if my grandkids asked me to take them I probably would at some point.
