Down to the Wire

If you follow my Facebook page, you might have seen that I finally hit the end of my current manuscript. In the world of the Big Five publishers, and even some of the medium or smaller presses, that manuscript would be one that’s coming out in a year or more. But in fact…the one I just finished is my June release, A Pinch of Promise.

Yeah…now you understand a tad bit more why I was so happy to hit the end. So now it’s a mad rush to get editing and formatting done but my critique partner, Jan Elder, and my beta reader are, thankfully, very fast workers and both have given me their feedback already. So now it’s down to my editor to work her magic. In all, I’m feeling optimistic about an early June release (for a while, I was worried I was going to end up in the last week.)

I’ll be doing a cover reveal to my newsletter subscribers later this week and then probably next week here on the blog. I will say that I love the cover – it’s such a great continuation of the theme we started on for A Splash of Substance.

I hate working down to the wire though. What about you? Are you a procrastinator who loves that rush of adrenaline as a deadline nears or are you a planner who avoids it?
