For a little while now, I've been trying to up my game when it comes…

Friendly Neighborhood Authors
As the release date for my first book nears (only 44 days to go!), I’ve been neck deep in marketing coordination with my publisher. One of the truths of publishing these days that readers might not know is that authors – even authors who have big contracts with big-name publishers – have to do a good bit of marketing on their own. Yes, there’s help in varying forms, but at the end of the day, the person most invested in good book sales is the author – so it’s kind of up to them. And so I’ve been arranging blog interview spots and trying to make sure all the various author pages are set up and so forth an so on to try and make sure that what I can do has been done.
With this on my mind, it was lovely to see Mike Duran’s latest post this morning in my RSS reader wherein he discusses things you (the reader) can do to promote your favorite authors. (It’s worth a read, as is his blog, honestly, so please stop by and take a look.)
So, while I can’t yet ask you to talk about my book (as you’ve not yet had a chance to read it – but it’s coming, and I really am looking forward to it being available to you), I can ask you to do a few things if you’ve not yet done so – and the beauty of it is that it won’t cost you anything or take more than a few minutes of your time.
If you’re willing, would you:

Thanks!
