Good Mom Points

This past week, I’ve been reading, at the request of my eldest, the first book in his current favorite series. It’s a Minecraft book. Given that he can talk about Minecraft from sun up to sun down, sitting down and reading about Minecraft when he’s not talking to me about it is not on my list of things that I want to do.

But I promised I’d read it. So I am.

It’s not bad. The story is engaging and I can see why he enjoys it. And it’s also lots and lots of Minecraft. So there’s that.

Even with all that, I don’t plan to read the rest of the series. But at least (maybe?) I get a few extra good mom points out of the deal.

  1. Yeah…in my house, it’s Marvel superheroes. I have to read and know way more about them than I would ever desire. But it gives us something to talk about that comes from him rather than from me. I know you’ll agree that it’s worth it.

    1. Totally worth it! But I would trade for Marvel superheroes any day. I actually love Marvel (and DC) so wouldn’t mind talking that all day.
