For a little while now, I've been trying to up my game when it comes…
Happy Birthday to My Hubby
Today is my husband’s 42nd birthday. (He’s not shy about his age, so I figure it’s okay to mention that number here. Of course, doing that will make it easy for you to figure out that I’m not all that shy about my age, either, since we’re basically the same age. But I’ll be younger for a few more months. Just sayin’.)
I had all these grand plans about making him a cake with the big green button (from Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy) on it. (You know, cause 42 is the ultimate answer.) And…it never happened. It might happen yet today, we shall see.
I feel like such a slacker though. He insists that he doesn’t care (and he probably doesn’t) but still, I hate feeling like I’ve dropped the ball on something like this.
Of course, he decided to take the day off today and didn’t tell me until mid-afternoon on Saturday. I’d made a few plans for errands that involved other people that I had to rapidly move around after that revelation, but I’m glad we’ll get to spend the day hanging out together as a family. Of course, I asked if he wanted to go do something (go somewhere nearby) and he’s like, “Well, I need to get poison ivy killer and some more lightbulbs, so we could hit up Lowe’s.” Cause that’s just what you want to do on your birthday, right? (Apparently for him, it is.)
Regardless, I’m incredibly grateful that God brought this man into my life, first as a friend and then as a boyfriend and finally as my husband. He makes all of life’s burdens easier to carry.

I hope your hubby has a wonderful birthday! Enjoy your day together! Especially at the fun-filled Lowe’s! 🙂 I can totally see my hubby being ecstatic at the thought of going to Lowe’s on his birthday! 🙂 Hope you have a blessed day!
I’m glad there are other silly hubbys out there 🙂 But it’s shaping into a good day for him so far — he’s asleep and we’re all up.
