Happy Valentine’s Day

heartsHappy Valentine’s Day!

You’d think, being a romance writer, that I would adore Valentine’s day. But, sadly, I’m not in love with it. I’m one of those annoying people who say “Love me all year long, not just when Hallmark says you should.” (I know, I know, I’m cynical.) But, on the flip side, it gets my husband off the hook for buying price-inflated flowers. So there’s that. (And I will say, he generally does a good job of doing little things for me year round to say he loves me. And I enjoy that so much more than the grand gesture once a year.)

But, despite that, I thought hey, Valentine’s Day, love is in the air, grand gestures are fun and so… if you haven’t read Kinsale Kisses yet but you’ve been wanting to, now’s your chance because today through Sunday it’s free on Kindle. I hope you’ll swing by and grab a copy and tell your friends (after all, it’s free, you have nothing to lose!) And, if you find you enjoyed it, I’d really appreciate it if you’d leave a sentence or two as a review.

Our first trip to Ireland actually fell over Valentine’s Day. We were in Dublin that day, if I recall, and it was amusing to see kiosks lining the street with huge teddy bears and bright red stuffed hearts. The Irish seem to embrace the day just as much as (if not perhaps a tad more than) we do. There were roses for sale everywhere. Not as much chocolate (at least not that I remember) though. Still, it’s a fun memory.

However you celebrate (with the grand gesture or just an extra heart-felt “I love you”) I hope you have a lovely day tomorrow and that you get to spend it with the people you love.

  1. You are not alone. 🙂 I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love flowers and candy too. As a matter of fact, my hubby got me two beautiful peach/yellow roses for an early valentines gift and I was happy! But, I agree with the love me all the time phrase. I think valentines is a tad bit over rated. I have the kind of hubby that shows me he loves me quite often throughout the year, and I would be just as happy and not the least bit offended if he didn’t get me roses. It was just a heartfelt thing for him and I love him for that. And I read Kinsale Kisses and it is awesome! I would say to those who haven’t read it, put your jammies on, download the free book, snuggle up with your favorite blanket, read an amazing valentines love story and save yourselves a boat load of money! 🙂

    1. Oooh, I love those peach/yellow roses (and I don’t know why my email sent your comment to spam – I’m sorry I’m so late responding!)

And hurah for awesome hubbies. I have one of those, too! 🙂
