For a little while now, I've been trying to up my game when it comes…
#Homeschooling Can Be Humorous
We never really stopped school for the summer this year. We scaled back. A lot. But there were very few weeks where no school got done. It has, so far, made transitioning back into our normal schedule much less painful than in the past.
But even still, we’re doing a little bit of review right now in language arts (just the way the materials we’re using happen to work out) and it’s caused some very amusing moments.
Our current focus is proper nouns. We’ve circled them in sentences when they’re capitalized correctly. We’ve identified them when they’re not capitalized correctly. We’ve chosen the proper nouns from groups. All the usual stuff.
Well, in one “find the proper noun” exercise, the sentence was:
“Jodie brought her hamster bubbles to school for show and tell.”
My son looked at me, his pencil hovering over the sentence, and asked: What are hamster bubbles?
It took me a few minutes to stop laughing before I explained that I thought the hamster was *named* Bubbles.
To which he replied, “That’s a dumb name for a hamster.”
I can’t really disagree.
