For a little while now, I've been trying to up my game when it comes…
Infertility Awareness Month: Faith Departed
One of the hardest aspects of my own struggle with infertility was how it challenged and stretched my faith in God. The Bible is full of references to children being a blessing, something bestowed upon the faithful. And I’d been faithful. Yet the rain continued to fall on the just and unjust alike – and it was hard to reconcile my faith with the horrific hollowness in my life.
I learned so much — grew so much — spiritually through my journey with infertility. Some of those lessons and experiences have been fictionalized in the Remnants series I published last year. The first book, Faith Departed, sets the stage and, I think (as do many who have read it) paints a realistic picture of what couples go through in that first year of struggling to conceive.
If it’s not a path you’ve been down personally, Faith Departed can help you understand what goes on in the hearts and minds of those who have.
