For a little while now, I've been trying to up my game when it comes…

Is Anyone Else Still Cold?
Having gone to college outside Chicago, I’m no stranger to the temperatures below freezing and arctic winds that blow straight through you no matter what you have on, but it’s been a long time since college and yesterday just about froze me into an ice cube. Your blood really does thin out once you’re not living in an area that gets cold like that anymore.
Public schools in our area cancelled because they didn’t want kids walking or waiting for the bus. But our homeschool tarried onward – having a joyful time adding three numbers at once and working on long a and long e. (Among other things.) We also had to venture out for the elder boy’s six year well-child visit. The baby, at least, got to spend the day in his snuggly jammies at home (my dad came and watched him while we went to the doctor. Win-win-win.)
I did get a start on some editing of Faith Departed. I had a few good suggestions on my Facebook page for renaming my character – but I’m not sure which I’ll go with, so for now he’s hanging tight and I’m focusing on some other issues. I’d like to get it worked through and back to my editor this week.
Anyway, if you, like me, are still trying to thaw out, you can always pop over to Angie Brashear’s blog today to read a little interview with me. I know she’d love to have you stop by!

I went to Wheaton – graduated in ’95, did a Master’s at IIT in ’96.
