Meet Lindsey and Karin

So I was trying to decide what might be interesting for blog fodder and settled on looking for actresses who I might choose to play Lindsey (a major secondary character in Courage to Change) and Karin (also featured in Courage to Change and the heroine of Serenity to Accept.)

Lindsey is a 16 year-old girl who forms a friendship with Allison over the course of the novel. In fact, it’s her predicament that sets the stage for Allison and Phil to work together. After much debate, I found Tara Lynne Barr — she’s pretty much perfect (though I’d lighten her hair some.)

Karin was more difficult. I could pick any number of actresses who are too old (Jennifer Connelly and Claudia Black are two who spring immediately to mind. And they give you absolutely the look I’m going for – black hair, bright blue eyes.) But Karin’s only 27, so someone who’s 40 in real life is not going to successfully pull that off, no matter how much anti-aging cream they use. So, after some digging, I found Katie McGrath…and I’m pretty happy with her as my choice.
