For a little while now, I've been trying to up my game when it comes…
Off to VBS We Go
This week is VBS at our church. My older son is excited beyond words. Seriously, he’s been jumping around all day asking various things about it – is it just tomorrow? It’s all week?! Cool! And so forth. It’s fun to watch. The younger one is less excited, though he’s excited that his brother is excited, he just doesn’t know why (he’s 2, he’ll be in the nursery anyway.) I’m looking forward to another year of the K-2 Bible teaching. It’s always fun to go through the lessons with the kids and see it start to take root in various ways.
Tonight, my husband and I spent way longer than we should have needed to spend recording a 2 minute video of him backlit behind a sheet giving his eyewitness interview as John the Baptist (with me as a stern Special Agent doing the interview.) I hope the kids’ll enjoy it (I couldn’t come up with a way to get a real person in to be John for me, so this’ll have to do.) What’s hilarious, at least to me, is that we got it recorded several times, but about half-way through one or the other (or both) kids would start either wailing or calling for us. Kind of killed the make believe. But now we have (finally!) a decent rendition and I’m looking forward to getting to use it tomorrow.
Have any fun VBS memories or stories to share?
