Post-Deadline Update

So…I’ve been absent for two weeks. Sorry about that. I’ve been stressing over a deadline for a novella and finally, FINALLY, I got it finished. I’m about a week past my personal deadline, but I think I’m still fine in terms of getting everything that needs to be written done by the time it’s due.

What novella, you ask? It’s for a box set that’ll be out in the early spring and…it’s a romantic comedy. Let me just say, I’m still biting my nails about that. I’ve been assured (over and over) that it doesn’t have to be side-clenching hilarious on every page, but that’s what I think of when I think of romantic comedy. I mean, I’ve got the romantic part down (well, I think so at least) but the comedy. Oy vey.

My humor tends to be on the dry side. Tinged with sarcasm. And that doesn’t always go over as funny to a large portion of the populace. So. Fingers crossed that I get some chuckles.

It’d be great to say I had a few days to breathe now that I’ve met this deadline, but I’ve managed to schedule deadlines tight enough that, for my own piece of mind, it really is off to the next book right away. I’m excited about that, to be honest, because the characters for this one have been whispering to me late at night lately and it’s hard to keep reminding them that they need to wait their turn.

And with that, you’re now up-to-date. I’ll try to get back to the Tuesday/Thursday thing here but…I have to admit, the once a week plan is looking mighty tempting.
