For a little while now, I've been trying to up my game when it comes…
Project Updates
I thought I’d take a few minutes and share a snapshot of some of the things currently going on in my world, both writerly and non-writerly.
- I finished some chapters I wrote to submit to a multi-author project and have toodled them off to my critique partner for her help, cause they feel a little…anemic to me. I’m sure she’ll have some magic ideas that will fix them. Or at least, that’s what I’m banking on!
- I wrote a sample post for another multi-author blog project that I’m praying about joining. It’s not specifically writing related and wouldn’t start up ’til the fall, but it’s tugging at my heart, so I’m going to see where it leads.
- I’m trying to hunker down into A Pinch of Promise so it can release in June like it’s supposed to, but I hit a snag. I think I’ve figured out the problem, but we shall see.
- We’re in the final stretch of the Awana year, so I’m starting to work on award ceremony type things (record keeping updates and so forth) so that it’s not a last minute panic. I suspect it’ll still be a last minute panic no matter what I do, but I’m trying.
- First grade for the eldest continues quite merrily. He’s enjoying borrowing and carrying in math and I’m enjoying revisiting the joy of those new concepts through him. We’re also looking at writing letters and addressing envelopes, which is fun. I’m hoping I can convince him to write his friend who moved away last year. I think the two of them would enjoy being pen pals.
- I’ll be speaking to his Cub Scout den about being a writer next month as well, so I’m working on that presentation. I’m hopeful that the activities I have planned will be fun for them. (My boy seems excited about them, so we’ll see.)
- We painted a bedroom, reorganized the library, and potty trained the youngest (though he refuses to poop on the potty right now, which is driving me up a wall – you could pray for us if you think of it!)
And that’s life in a nutshell. What have you been up to?
