Snow Day Fun

We got the most snow we’ve had this winter over the night (and it’s still snowing off and on so far today.) Since my older son is a January birthday, he hasn’t been eligible for public school yet, so the schools being closed doesn’t impact us overly much (and it likely won’t for the foreseeable future as we intend to home school), but it’s still been fun to have a lazy snow day. None of our usual schedule, we’re still hanging out in jammies, and my husband is working from home rather than risking being out with the silly people on the roads.

Most of what we’ve been doing is playing and reading – and really that’s a fairly typical day around here anyway. But I think we’ll bake some cookies later this afternoon (is there anything better than baking when it’s snowing?) And then I’ll send hubby and the older one out to play in the cold and take advantage of hubs being home to stay inside and watch from where it’s warm.

For now, though, the boys are in the playroom having a jolly time in the blanket fort they constructed and I’ve dragged my laptop in here so I can hang out with them and get busy with some editing that, sadly, isn’t going to happen on its own. Editing is, hands down, my least favorite part of writing. But it’s much more fun when I’m hanging out in the midst of cheerful playing.

Do you have any snow today?
