For a little while now, I've been trying to up my game when it comes…

Snow Days
Yesterday and today we’ve had some snow/sleet/ice falling intermittently – enough that they cancelled school. Since we homeschool, that hasn’t been much of an impact for us, though my eldest (the only one actually in school) has asked why there are so many big kids still home. He didn’t lobby for us to take a break from school like I imagined he would, so I went ahead and did school with him anyway. I figure it’ll pay off on other days when we need a break (and it’s not as if Kindergarten takes huge amounts of time anyway.)
Today, while he was out playing in the snow, we did a few little “science” experiments and talked about how water turns into vapor and solid. He thought that was pretty cool. My younger son was having a grand time splashing in the slush that formed under the drain pipes.
Tomorrow I think our weather is back to normal (cool to cold, no precipitation) and I’m looking forward to being able to get out of the house for a bit when we go to Bible study. But the little break in the routine was fun as well. And I’m every so slightly hopeful that it’s jiggled loose whatever mental block I’ve been having with my writing of late.
