For a little while now, I've been trying to up my game when it comes…

Waiting for Spring
Winter in the Northern Virginia area this year has been weird. We’ve gotten much more snow than we’re used to getting–and even when it’s not snowing, it’s been cold. But the last several days have been much more like we’d expect for early spring around here. Until yesterday when it snowed. Again.
I know for people in the north or mountains, snow in late March isn’t anything all that unusual. But even though the snow yesterday didn’t stick, it was weird. And frustrating. Because as much as I love winter (and I do), I’m ready for spring. The crocuses starting to grow in my gardens are ready, too. And yet there’s nothing to do but keep waiting.
Waiting is a major theme of Faith Departed. One of the hardest aspects of infertility is the waiting — and yet it’s part of every step along the way. I think, often, waiting is harder when what you’re waiting for is something you yearn for with every fiber of your being. It’s much easier to wait for things you aren’t particularly excited about (honestly, I think we often find ways to wait longer when it’s things we’re not looking forward to!) But oh, how sweet it is when you finally get what you’ve been waiting for.
So I’ll keep waiting (as patiently as I can) for spring, and for all the other (more difficult) things I’m waiting for and trusting for the Lord to provide in His time. What about you? Are you waiting for something?
