Well, That Was Easy

So I spent a little time mulling over who I would choose to play Lydia and Kevin in a movie of Wisdom to Know (yeah, ha! But still a surprisingly fun exercise.) And I remembered one of my favorite movies from long ago, Center Stage. I thought to myself, “I wonder what the girl who played Jody looks like these days?” And, lo and behold, she’s perfect!

Lydia would, therefore, be played by Amanda Schull, were I to be in charge of casting. (I’m linking, not copying or pinning these images because I’m a tad paranoid about celebrity photos. They’re generally taken by people who get paid for doing so and I’m not out to infringe anyone’s copyright.)

Kevin was a bit more challenging. He’s kind of “boy next door”, but also a little on the geekier side (not in the Erkel direction, but just not a super model or Hollywood poster boy.) I remembered a conversation some friends and I had about the various front runners for Finnick (in the Catching Fire movie) and it seemed that there had been one that I found particularly intriguing. So I revisited that and, after a bit of hemming and hawing, I have settled happily on the idea of Sam Claflin (as pictured in the link – some of his other photos on IMDB are not my mental image of Kevin at all.) (Amusingly, I’m not really sold on him as Finnick at all – to me he doesn’t fit the physical characteristics. But I’d be happy with him for my story. And here again we see why I’m torn about doing this at all. Cause really – just let your mind conjure someone up!)

So there you have it — what do you think? (Perhaps I’ll have some more casting ideas in the coming days. I’ll let you know.)
