Where do you get your books?

Over the summer, Amazon changed the way they’re paying for titles in the Kindle Select program. (Basically, for the uninitiated, Kindle Select means that your books are available only on Amazon. If you enroll them in that, they’re eligible to be read as part of Kindle Unlimited, the subscription service Amazon has.) I, personally, like the idea behind how they’re paying out for books better now (by page read) but in the overall scheme of things, it’s not making a huge dent in my world because, as of right now, I only have one title (Kinsale Kisses) in Select. All my other books are available on other e-book platforms (so on B&N and iTunes and Kobo.)

On the one hand, I like the idea that my books are out there and easily accessible to folks, regardless of their preferred reading format. On the other hand, I read about authors with a handful of titles (so similar output to me, is what I’m getting at) who keep it all on Amazon and…it’s tempting. ‘Cause they’re selling a lot more than I am.

And so I have this constant argument going on in my head. Do I pull my books off other platforms and put everything into Select? Or do I leave it with wide distribution? At the end of the day, I’m trying to balance making it as easy as possible for God to use my writing for His glory (my primary goal) with wanting to earn some money (a secondary goal.)

Which brings me back around to the question in the title…where do you get the majority of your ebooks? Inquiring minds want to know.

    1. November! But, as a bonus for being a bit of a wait, there’ll be two! A Christmas novella and book 3 in the Taste of Romance series.
