Are You Excited About Divergent?

I have to admit, I loved the book Divergent. Have you read it? To me, it’s so much better than The Hunger Games series – the main reason? Divergent offers hope where The Hunger Games had only the promise of more suffering. And so I find I’m crazily looking forward to the first movie as it opens this weekend – though, well…books into movies are hit and miss…and I really hope they did a good job with it.

That said, I haven’t actually read Insurgent and Allegiant yet. I’ve got friends who aren’t into spoiler tags and, well, things they’ve said have left me nervous about those two books. (Nervous to the point that I actually went ahead and read about the ending of Allegiant – and I’m kind ok OK with it, since I understand the author’s reasons for doing what she did. But…I’m hesitant to read them, even still, cause I’m an HEA girl, and these just aren’t going to give me my Happily Ever After.)

My plan though is to re-read Divergent this week. And then, hopefully, see the movie very soon. I have a group of girl friends who go to see these kinds of movies with me – so I’m waiting to hear when they’re free (plus we try to wait to avoid the mad rush of giggling teenagers. After all, we’re older than that. We want to giggle without the weird looks from people who think we’re too old to be there.)
