Busy and Semi-Braindead

I’m afraid to say that between AWANA, homeschool, and just general tiredness, blogging has fallen to the bottom of the priority heap. Which is why I find myself at 10pm on Tuesday desperately trying to get something scheduled for tomorrow. And I’m failing miserably because all I can think of is that Tuesday (or maybe Monday) was National Soft Serve Ice Cream day and somehow or other I missed it. It seems like a sad thing to miss out on a day celebrating ice cream. I love ice cream.

We had the littlest’s hearing checked today. They want him to come back in a month and we’ll do it again. And somewhere in there I’ll need to schedule a speech evaluation. (Though it seems to me that I should have something conclusive about his ears before I do that. But whatever.)

The eldest is fussing quite a bit about starting school back up. We were trucking along smoothly with the first bits of it working back in, but now that we’re up to our “full load” (which is to say, it takes 40ish minutes to get everything done, and that’s not even all in a row) he’s needing the reminder that a full day of public school is much, much longer than that. Hopefully that’ll settle in soon as it’s just so much nicer when we hit our rhythm.

Tonight I went to a meeting of local AWANA commanders and directors (and pastors). It was nice to get a little heads up about some of the changes coming to the various curricula, but it might’ve been nicer to be home with the boys and the hubby for the 3 hours instead. But then, I’m a homebody at heart.

In writing news, I’m contemplating submitting my Irish novella to a regular romance line of the same publisher rather than self-pubbing (or at least rather than simply leaping to self-pubbing) but…we’ll see. I’m making good progress finishing up June and July’s story (Love Defined, the third book, will release in December.) And I’m getting very excited about the trilogy I’ve contracted (contemporary romance) for next year. But I need to push those characters and stories aside (so hard!) and focus on June and July for just a bit longer.

And that’s everything going on here in a nutshell. Any of you have exciting news to share?
