Random Happenings

In an effort to actually stay on my Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule round here, I was pleased to remember that I needed to set up a post for today. Then I realized I had very little of interest to say. Which seems to be an ever growing problem for me.

So, a little bit of random summarization of things going on around these parts to fill the block.

First up, I’m making good headway on Hope Deferred and think it’s shaping into a very nice follow up to Faith Departed. Hopefully you’ll all agree.

Next, I’m off to a three-day training for AWANA Commanders tomorrow. On the one hand, I’m hopeful that it’ll have some good information that’ll help me be better at my job (though honestly I think I’m doing okay with it. I’m enjoying it, the kids are enjoying it, and the other leaders all have said positive things as well. So…) On the other hand, I’m really not looking forward to being away from the boys (including the hubby) for that long. I hate it when hubs takes vacation to watch the kids so I can go out of town. If he’s taking vacation, I want to be with the family. But, the boys always enjoy that daddy time, so it’s also hard to begrudge them that. And I’m hopeful that I’ll have some good writing time in the evenings in my hotel room. We’ll see what ends up happening.

Finally, despite the dearth of suggestions, I think I’ve nailed down the Easter menu. Simple (pre-seasoned roast from Costco — just throw it in the oven, and asparagus) yet yummy. Now I just need to remember to email my in-laws and make sure they know they’re invited.
