For a little while now, I've been trying to up my game when it comes…
I mentioned that I’m participating in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) this year. And since I did, I figured it was worth giving you a little update.
I’ve been working to get at least 2,500 words each week day (because weekends generally don’t have a ton of writing time around here — those of you with small kids will understand that.) And I feel like I’m on track. At this point, I have 33,000 of the 50,000 words required “win” written.
The big bonus, in my mind, is that I’m also enjoying the story. It’s not flowing as easily as some of my books have, but it’s also not a chore to drag every word out. And while I know it’s going to need some work once the first draft is done, it doesn’t seem like it’s complete trash (to be honest, I usually feel like that at least twice in every novel I write, so for this one to have, so far, avoided that is amazing.)
